Johor Sultan Hits Out At Mahathir

Johor Sultan Hits Out At Mahathir

By Admin-S On Aug 25, 2016

(The Star) – “And now he talks about unity with an incredible straight face”.

The Sultan of Johor strongly rebuked Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad over the former prime minister’s disapproval of the Bangsa Johor concept.

Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar expressed his displeasure over the remarks made by Dr Mahathir that the concept could disunite the people.

“Tun Mahathir’s uncalled for remarks reflect his complete ignorance of Johor’s history.

“My great-grandfather Sultan Sir Ibrahim in 1920 made the clarion call Bangsa Johor to unite the various races in Johor under one flag for greater cooperation, harmony and peaceful existence. No race or individual was marginalised. He has been proven correct.

“The Bangsa Johor concept was initiated even before Tun Mahathir was born. He has no idea of what he is talking about,” said the Sultan.

Dr Mahathir, asked for his opinion about the Bangsa Johor concept at the 20th Perdana Dialogue Series themed “Federal-States Relations” at the Perdana Leadership Foundation yesterday, had said unity among Malaysians could slide if the people practised too much parochialism.

Dr Mahathir said the people should all be known as Malaysians, instead of the people of Johor or Kedah because “only when we are united can the nation prosper”.

While Johor has the right to promote the idea of Bangsa Johor, Dr Mahathir said what should be pushed instead was for the people to embrace that they are all Malaysians rather than identifying themselves from the state they originate from.

“After all, we are all citizens of Malaysia, irrespective of our colour, religion, ethnicity or even position,” Dr Mahathir had said.

Sultan Ibrahim yesterday said Dr Mahathir was not qualified to talk about unity.

“He is going around dividing the people including the Malays, while I am uniting Malaysians of all races including the Malays,” he said.

Sultan Ibrahim said Dr Mahathir should understand all states enjoyed their own unique pride but that did not mean they were leaving the Federation.

“It is a figment of Dr Mahathir’s imagination. He is stirring the hornet’s nest and my advice to him is to keep his mouth shut.”

Sultan Ibrahim said Dr Mahathir had earned a reputation for being a confrontational person who had caused division, especially in his foreign relations policy.

“He has quarrelled with many world leaders including with our neighbour Singapore and putting Malaysia in a spot.

“And now he talks about unity with an incredible straight face.

“Tun Mahathir is the root cause of the present problems in the country. He has no right to interfere in my state. I will not tolerate his antics,” the Johor Sultan said.

Mahathir Also Using Malays To Screw Malays

Mahathir Also Using Malays To Screw Malays

By MT Webmaster
Last updated Oct 7, 2017

Mahathir does not understand what he is talking about because he is not a scholar. He is going on and on about the result or symptoms of the division of the ummah. He should talk about the cause of this division. The cause is because politicians like Mahathir have adopted the divide-and-rule strategy of turning the ummah against each other. And that is why Mahathir and Lim Kit Siang can work together: because both are using Malays to screw Malays.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Just as PAS gathers 200,000 supporters in Terengganu, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad laments that Muslims are not living as Muslims — meaning Muslims are not true Muslims. That probably goes for Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, etc., as well but that is another debate for another time. Today we will just discuss what Mahathir said about deviant Muslims.

Mahathir once said Muslims should not sport beards and that the only reason Prophet Muhammad kept a beard is because they had no Gillette shaving blades at that time. That is actually true (that there were no Gillette shaving blades at that time) because the company was formed in 1901 and not in 600. Nevertheless, is this the reason why Muslims, the Prophet included, had beards?

Mahathir says Prophet Muhammad was able to shave his head but was unable to shave his chin because they had no Gillette shaving blades back in the year 600

Long before the birth of the Prophet people in the Arabian Peninsula already practiced the Haj ritual. Hence the Haj is actually a pre-Islamic ritual. And one of the rituals is the shaving of the head. If the Arabs back in, say the year 100, did not have any shaving utensils, how did they shave their heads? They were able to shave their heads but were unable to shave their chins, according to Mahathir’s understanding of why Muslims kept beards but shaved bald.

When Mahathir talks he simply shoots from the hip and what he says is not based on academic research. Mahathir should read more or take short three-month courses at Oxford and Cambridge on Philosophy of Religion, Political Philosophy, Comparative Religions, World Religions, History of Religions, and so on. This will open his mind to the truth, as now Mahathir has a very narrow view of ‘truth’ and to him ‘truth is as I see it’.

Mahathir said Muslims only perform fardhu ain and do not really follow the Qur’an. This statement alone demonstrates Mahathir’s shallow understanding of the Qur’an. Fardhu ain is between you and God (Allah). If you fail to perform fardhu ain you have sinned against God. More important than fardhu ain is fardhu kifayah. If you fail to perform fardhu kifayah you have sinned against humankind.

Mahathir is working with DAP to use the Malays to screw the Malays and to divide the Muslim ummah

Let us look at a simple example to demonstrate how this works. Let’s say you are the Prime Minister and you have political power. But then all the banks in Malaysia are non-Islamic, in that they charge interest on loans. Hence every Muslim in Malaysia who borrows money needs to pay interest and would be indulging in sin.

You as Prime Minister can do something about this. You can set up Islamic banks that do not charge interest but work on the basis of partnership and profit sharing. But then you do not. You allow the Muslims to continue to sin by paying interest. So you have sinned against humankind and God cannot forgive you for this. You need to seek forgiveness from every Muslim who is dead, still alive, or yet to be born as long as their sin continue even after your death.

Mahathir talks about reading the Qur’an and about understanding what you read by comparing many different translations to make sure you are understanding correctly what you read. Actually, no need to go so far and to discuss this in a very complex manner. Let us just simplify the discussion and see if Mahathir understands what he is talking about or whether he is as misguided as those Islamic State (IS) terrorists he is condemning.

The ‘Muslim problem’ is the division of the ummah, like what Mahathir is doing

Islam is a religion of the ummah. That is why Muslims are referred to as the Muslim ummah (ummah Islam). But then Mahathir has spent his entire life dividing the ummah. Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang are trying to reverse the damage that Mahathir has done to the ummah. And Mahathir is trying to oppose that by working with non-Muslims to oppose the unity of the ummah that Najib and Hadi are attempting.

No need to read the whole Qur’an. No need to read 25 different translations of the Qur’an. Just focus on one word: ummah. And ask Mahathir why he is against the unity of the ummah, which is the very foundation of Islam. All those problems regarding IS, ISIS, the Sunni-Shia divide, Iran-Iraq war that took one million lives, Libyan civil war, Syrian civil war, and whatnot, are due to only one thing: the division of the ummah. And Mahathir is trying to do the same thing in Malaysia: dividing the ummah.

Umar al Khattab the second khalifah

Within a decade after the election of Omar ibn al Khattab (r) as the Caliph, the map of West Asia and North Africa had changed. Madina was now the capital of the largest empire in the world, extending from Tripoli in North Africa to Samarqand in Central Asia. This empire was ruled not by a king or a general but by a revolutionary creed:

“There is no deity but God and Muhammed is His Messenger”.

The Caliph was no more than a servant of God, and the keeper of Divine Laws.

When Caliph Omar (r) was informed of the victories over Persia, he went to the mosque in Madina and addressed the people:

“ O believers! The Persians have lost their kingdom. They cannot harm us any more. God has made you inherit their country, their properties and their riches, so that He may test you. Therefore, you should not change your ways. Otherwise, God will bring forth another nation in place of you. I feel anxiety for our community from our own people”.

Mahathir’s Merdeka Day lies – a pack full of them

Mahathir’s Merdeka Day lies – a pack full of them

TTF: The following is a news editorial by The Sun Daily (original editorial far below) that was reproduced (lines in blue) to incorporate reactions by TTF (lines in red):

(Edited at 10.45 am for clarity)

SUN: KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Malaysians today are relieved to have finally removed Barisan Nasional (BN) from power and have Pakatan Harapan (PH) as government after 61 years.

TTF: This was generally true right after the 14th general election (GE14) concluded.

However, whether or not Malaysians are still as relieved as they were post-GE14 is subject to debate, as many have become disillusioned with Pakatan Harapan after realising that the coalition misled the rakyat on virtually every occasion and is pinning the blame squarely on the previous administration for its own mistakes.

SUN: The Prime Minister said many among the public felt suppressed under the previous regime.

“They feel they are no longer oppressed. There was fear before. (That) you can’t do this, you can’t do that,” he said at the Malaysia Baru celebration organised by Malaysians for Malaysia (M4M) in conjunction with the 61st National Day celebration, here, today.

TTF: This is a lie.

Many felt it easy to express themselves under the Najib administration as the administration was open to criticism and never politically castrated dissenters.

The freedom that was granted for one to express dissatisfaction against government back then is made manifest when one considers that Pakatan held multiple rallies without proper permits but was let off the hook on most occasions.

SUN: The veteran statesman, however, admitted PH was finding it difficult being the government and delivering on its election promises as it has no experience in administering the country.

TTF: This is another lie.

PH comprises many past government leaders and spouses or aides of those leaders who are now holding key government positions, including Mahathir himself, who previously held the post of Prime Minister for 22 years.

Apart from Mahathir, you have Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (who some say has resigned or will resign), Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (who is the wife of a former deputy Prime Minister and gets her cues from him) and Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali (who has been Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s aid since his UMNO days), all of whom are well accustomed with the ways of government.

And let us not forget Lim Guan Eng.

Like Muhyiddin and Azmin, he once led a state government and knows very well what it takes to control an administration.

Yet, all the blunders and disasters by the present administration were brought about by the failures of these people.

SUN: He said many of the pledges in the Buku Harapan were included thinking the coalition would not be successful in toppling BN in the general election.

“Many things that we put in the manifesto thinking we would be the opposition, but now we are the government. We are slow (in implementing pledges) because we are not used to being the government,” he said.

TTF: This is yet another lie.

On the 1st of June 2018, Mahathir alleged that Pakatan Harapan needed more time to fulfil pledges outlined in its ‘10 promises in 100 days’ manifesto for GE14 as “Barisan Nasional had greatly damaged the country.”

Mahathir said this without explaining in any amount of detail how Barisan could possibly have caused destruction to the economy which, every right thinking Malaysian knows, was triggered by Pakatan from the moment it assumed power.

Then, on the 16th of July 2018, he alleged that the manifesto wasn’t a bible that Pakatan had to follow and abide by religiously, meaning, he admitted that the coalition had no intention whatsoever of fulfilling its manifesto pledges from the get go.

This, coupled with his latest statement (above), qualifies as an admission on his part that Pakatan did indeed make fake pledges just to topple Barisan Nasional.

SUN: Mahathir said among other promises that PH had drafted in the manifesto with being the opposition in mind, and to keep “the BN government” in check, was to name an opposition member as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman.

“But what to do (they are now the opposition). We have promised, so we have to have ourselves examined and scrutinised by the opposition,” he said.

TTF: As I have proven earlier, Pakatan never once believed it would remain the opposition and was confident of wresting Putrajaya from Barisan.

But that’s besides the point.

For Mahathir to say that Pakatan made pledges thinking it would remain the opposition is utter stupidity.

The reason being, Pakatan’s manifesto was a published verbal declaration of its intentions, motives and pledges subject to it wresting control of government from Barisan.

What this means, is that Pakatan did believe it had a chance of winning GE14.

But thanks to Mahathir, we now know that the only reason it prepared the manifesto is because it knew, that by doing so, it could con the people into ousting the previous Barisan Nasional administration.

SUN: Mahathir said the coalition had also not expected that the road after the May 9 polls would be a rough ride, claiming they had initially thought the hardest part – winning the election – was over.

“The people decided they want to change the government, not so much for PH, but to get rid of so and so (referring to former premier Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak). We have done that. But we realised that was the easy part.

“Now that we are the government, there is a little bit of discomfort. People who have been opposing the government for 61 years are finding it difficult to be the government. They don’t know how to behave,” he said.

TTF: This is true, but only in part.

Many government leaders are indeed behaving as if they are still members of the opposition.

However, as I pointed out earlier, key people in the current administration are well accustomed with the ways of government and are the ones blundering most.

So let’s not use the excuse that “people who have been opposing the government for 61 years are finding it difficult to be the government.”

SUN: The Langkawi MP, however, pledged that the government would do its best to deliver on its election promises.

BN leaders and certain quarters of the public have recently criticised PH for failing to keep to its election pledge after only a fraction of its “10 promises in 100 days” were implemented.

TTF: Another pledge from Mahathir after failing to fulfil all other pledges?

Can we even trust anything he says anymore???

“Semua orang dah bersetuju. Mereka sendiri tak kata tak bersetuju. Datuk Seri Mohd.

“Apakah dia takut reform?

“The point is that there is an agreement. Dah setuju. Mengapa mengungkit lagi?

WARTAWAN SINAR HARIAN

26 OKTOBER 2015
