Crocodile Tears: Mahathir And Proton

Crocodile Tears: Mahathir And Proton

It is better for Malaysia to own 50.1% of a company that has chance to survive and have a market of 1.43 billion people than to own 100% of a company that is on the verge of bankruptcy and losing billions of Ringgit every year in a market of just 30 million people.

(LSS) – 1. Proton sales started to decline in the year 2003 while Tun Mahathir was still Prime Minister. Just two years later in 2005, it was overtaken by Perodua in the Malaysia market and overtaken by Honda in 2016.

Exports sales to UK and Singapore have now dropped to zero.

In Australia, from Jan to April 2017, Proton only managed to sell 11 cars.

2. Lotus Cars have lost money every single year since Proton bought the company in 1996 – losing a total of an estimated RM6 billion over the past 20 years and RM920 million in 2013 alone.

3. Tun Mahathir had asked Volkswagen to take a 50% stake in Proton in the year 2005 but the deal did not happen. Later, Tun Mahathir asked the government to sell all of Proton to DRB-Hicom in 2011.

4. Since DRB-Hicom fully took over in 2012, Proton have lost RM4 billion. In the year 2016 alone, Proton lost RM1.4 billion. Proon had also dragged the parent DRB-Hicom group into losses – putting 100,000 jobs at risk.

5. The heavy losses and lack of cash in Proton also caused payments to Proton suppliers and vendors to be unpaid – putting another 40,000 jobs at risk.

Mahathir’s son, Mokhzani Mahathir owns the official distributor of Porsche cars in Malaysia and has a long involvement in the local Auto Industry. The situation is so bad that Mokhzani, who had a fortune of RM4.22 billion in the year 2014 and is the second richest Malay tycoon, did not dare to pay the RM1.1 billion to buy up DRB-Hicom’s stake to help save Proton

6. Due to the big amount of jobs at risk, the govt had no choice but to give RM1.5 billion in soft loans to Proton in early 2016 which Proton immediately used up to clear off all its debt to its suppliers and vendors. In late 2016, the govt was also forced to give another RM1.7 billion in credit line to Proton to enable it to continue operating.

7. The total assistance given by Govt to Proton in 2016 alone is RM3.2 billion –  This is more than half of the RM5.9 billion that the govt paid in BR1M to 4.7 million households and 2.7 million single individuals for the year 2016.

Crocodile tears: Mahathir and Proton

2. Lotus Cars have lost money every single year since Proton bought the company in 1996 - losing a total of an estimated RM6 billion over the past 20 years and RM920 million in 2013 alone.

Proon had also dragged the parent DRB-Hicom group into losses - putting 100,000 jobs at risk.

Proton was threatening to bring down the entire DRB-Hicom groups that was very diversified and includes airports, ports, construction, power, logistics etc - along with its 60,000 jobs.

You can see this clearly from the Group's earnings since they completed the purchase of Proton in 2012.

5. The heavy losses and lack of cash in Proton also caused payments to Proton suppliers and vendors to be unpaid - putting another 40,000 jobs at risk.

Mahathir's son, Mokhzani Mahathir owns the official distributor of Porsche cars in Malaysia and has a long involvement in the local Auto Industry. The situation is so bad that Mokhzani, who had a fortune of RM4.22 billion in the year 2014 and is the second richest Malay tycoon, did not dare to pay the RM1.1 billion to buy up DRB-Hicom's stake to help save Proton

7. The total assistance given by Govt to Proton in 2016 alone is RM3.2 billion -  This is more than half of the RM5.9 billion that the govt paid in BR1M to 4.7 million households and 2.7 million single individuals for the year 2016.

This would be on top of the RM14 billion assistance that the govt had given Proton since it was founded.

8. After being made Chairman of Proton in Jan 2014, it was Mahathir and Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar who traveled to China in April 2014 to invite Geely to help save Proton. It was Mahathir who first approached Geely for help.

The Govt no longer owns Proton. The sale to Geely was DRB Hicom's decision - not the govt.

As pointed out earlier, it was Mahathir who had asked Govt to sell its stake in Proton to DRB Hicom, a private company, which then sold a stake to Geely.

Therefore, it is strange for Mahathir to suddenly criticize the sale of a stake in Proton to China's Geely and claim he is crying since it was Mahathir who first said that Proton should sell a stake to Germany's Volkswagen in 2005, it was Mahathir who asked Government to sell all its stake in Proton to a private company in 2011 and it was Mahathir who first approached Geely in China in 2014 to ask it to help save Proton.

In fact, just 3 months ago in February 2017, Mahathir said he has no objection with Geely buying a stake in Proton. Suddenly, 3 months later he criticizes the government, blames Najib and he says he wants to cry because his "son" was sold?

Looks more like Mahathir was the one who sold his own son instead. Bapak jual anak!

Even though Mahathir was instrumental in the govt selling off Proton to private companies and in getting Geely to be interested in Proton, this has not stopped Mahathir from going all over Malaysia during the month of Ramadhan to slander and blame Prime Minister Najib over Proton's sale and make low-classed jokes about Najib's wife. This is from two days before Ramadhan started.

Of course, Mahathir supporters and fan-pages take their cue from his low-class jibes and proceeds to hit even lower lows with posts such as this - on the first day of Ramadhan too.

9. Proton continues to be 50.1% majority-owned by DRB-Hicom, a Malaysian company while Geely owns 49.9%. Geely has a good track-record. After buying 100% of Volvo from Sweden in 2010, Geely has helped make Volvo a success. Last year, Volvo sold the highest number of cars in its history - it's fourth straight years of record sales.

10. By partnering with Geely, Proton's survival is more assured. Instead of a market of just 30 million people in Malaysia, Proton can now access a market of 1.4 billion people in China.

It is better for Malaysia to own 50.1% of a company that has chance to survive and have a market of 1.43 billion people than to own 100% of a company that is on the verge of bankruptcy and losing billions of Ringgit every year in a market of just 30 million people.

Political Analyst: Dr M Like A Father Who Had Tried To Sell His ‘Son’

Political Analyst: Dr M Like A Father Who Had Tried To Sell His ‘Son’

(The Star) – A political blogger has questioned Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s grief over the sale of a 49.9% stake in Proton to Chinese carmaker Zheijiang Geely Automotive Co Ltd.

Revealing that it was Dr Mahathir who set the wheels in motion for the sale, Lim Sian See wrote in his blog on Saturday that the former Proton chairman was crying fake tears.

He was responding to Dr Mahathir’s recent blog post lamenting that the sale was akin to him “losing a child”.

“Therefore, it is strange for Mahathir to suddenly criticise the sale of a stake in Proton to China’s Geely and claim he is crying since it was Mahathir who first said that Proton should sell a stake to Germany’s Volkswagen in 2005.

“It was Mahathir who asked the Government to sell all its stake in Proton to a private company in 2011 and it was Mahathir who first approached Geely in China in 2014 to ask it to help save Proton,” Lim wrote.

He added that this was akin to “a father who had tried to sell his son but then tried to blame others”.

According to Lim, Proton sales started to decline in 2003 during Dr Mahathir’s last year in office.

“Just two years later in 2005, it was overtaken by Perodua in the Malaysia market and after Mahathir became chairman in 2014, it was overtaken by Honda too in 2016,” he said.

He added that Lotus Cars have lost an estimated total of RM6bil since Proton acquired the company in 1996 and never had a single year of profitability.

Lim said that in 2005, Dr Mahathir had invited Volkswagen to acquire a 50% stake in Proton, although the deal fell through.

He said that it was also Dr Mahathir who had asked the Government to sell its shares in Proton to DRB-Hicom in 2012.

Lim added that as Proton continued to lose billions, it was Dr Mahathir who first approached Geely to help save the national carmaker.

“After being made chairman of Proton in January 2014, it was Mahathir and Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar who travelled to China in April 2014 to invite Geely to help save Proton,” he said.

Lim said that DRB-Hicom Group, which fully took over Proton in 2012, had been dragged into incurring losses, putting the group and hundreds of thousands of jobs at risk.

“Proton was threatening to bring down the entire DRB-Hicom group that was very diversified and includes airports, ports, construction, power, logistics etc – along with its 60,000 jobs,” he said.

Due to the jobs at risk, Lim said the Government then granted Proton billions of ringgit in soft loans to enable it to stay afloat.

“The total assistance given by the Government to Proton in 2016 alone is RM3.2bil,” he said, adding that Proton had also received another RM14bil in assistance since it was first founded.

“Even Mahathir’s son Mokhzaini who was listed as Malaysia’s second richest Malay and has a well-known penchant for expensive cars but not Proton was not interested to use his billions to take over Proton,” he said.

Lim said with 50.1% of Proton owned by DRB-Hicom and with Geely on board, Proton’s survival is assured.

“It is better for Malaysia to own 50.1% of a company that has chance to survive and have a market of 1.43 billion people than to own 100% of a company that is on the verge of bankruptcy and losing billions of ringgit every year in a market of just 30 million people,” he said.

DRB-Hicom said on Wednesday it had reached an agreement for the sale of the stake in Proton. Both parties expect to sign the definitive agreement in July 2017.

Mahathir And 1MDB: What’s The Real Deal Here?

Mahathir And 1MDB: What’s The Real Deal Here?

LSS

1. Mahathir is just rehashing his various allegations against 1MDB – all of which has been debunked and proven to be lies for two years now.

2. He alleges that the Govt overpaid for the IPP energy assets but this was proven wrong as these IPPs were sold back at approximately the same price which 1MDB bought it at.

3. As a result, the debts of 1MDB had been reduced to RM27 billion now. It is no longer RM42 billion or RM55 billion while all short term debts and bank loans have been cleared.

4. The current outstanding debts comprises of a 30 year bond of RM5 billion that will come due only in the year 2039, a USD3 billion bond due in the year 2023 and a USD3.5 billion bond due in the year 2022.  There is also a RM2

5. There is also a RM2.4 billion Bandar Malaysia bond due between 2021 and 2024 but this is tied to the sale of development rights for the Bandar Malaysia land.

6. Already, the govt has received 9 bids from Global Fortune 500 companies, of which the highest press bid was for USD7.5 billion to USD10.5 billion (RM44 billion). The govt will make a decision soon.

7. Mahathir alleges there was no need to buy the IPPs in the first place as some agreements were soon to expire. The truth is that the purchases were a packaged deal that includes 13 different Power Plants only only 2 were close to expiry but was already being renewed at time of purchase.

8. As a result of 1MDB’s venture into the power industry, all the lopsided IPP deals that has cost us tens of billions of losses yearly that was signed by Mahathir has been resolved.

9. This is why since 2012, no opposition leaders talk about lop-sided IPPs anymore. This move by 1MDB has saved Malaysia at least RM200 billion in the next 20 years.

10. On top of this RM200 billion in savings from eliminating lop-sided IPP deals, Mahathir has also never mentioned that 1MDB fully paid for the much-needed construction and upgrade of 8 military bases – including the giant 750 acres Sendayan air force base in Seremban.

11. Hiding pieces of critical and groundbreaking info like these shows the extent of how malicious and deceiving the Mahathir and the opposition are – and we have not even come to the tens of thousands of student scholarship and Haj pilgrimages that 1MDB also paid for.

12. And the reason that 1MDB is alleged to be under investigation in 7 countries is because Mahathir himself sent his lackeys, Khairuddin Abu Hassan and Matthias Chang, to all these countries to make reports and providing selective information.

13. Even after two yeas, neither the Prime Minister nor 1MDB itself has been named as a suspect in any case anywhere in these 7 countries.

14. Despite Mahathir saying that the Najib will be arrested if he goes overseas – especially in the USA, Najib is now visiting the White House at the US President’s invitation.

15. It is also not true that the government lost money when selling the TRX land and Bandar Malaysia land to 1MDB. 1MDB remains 100% govt owned so how can there be a loss?

16. As for the allegation that the TRX land cost RM7,000 psf at the time of sale to 1MDB, this is complete bullshit. The RM7,000 psf of land referred to by Mahathir is for a very small piece of land of 20,000 sf  situated right next to Pavilion KL that was bough by Pavilion for expansion purposes. It is a small plot in an already fully developed location with ready infrastructure. Only Pavilion would have paid so much for that piece of land. Since then, no other pieces of land in Malaysia had reached RM7,000 psf.

If Mahathir truly believes the land is worth RM7,000 psf, then TRX is more than happy to sell all the land to Mahathir at a discounted price of RM5,000 psf.

17. Mahathir cannot compare that small piece of land to the land in Imbi when 1MDB first bought it. 1MDB had to put in RM3 billion to relocate the squatters and many established structures restaurants, markets, public housing and shophouses as well as prepare the development plans and build tunnels and infrastructure for the TRX land.

18. If none of these were done, no one would pay RM7,000 psf or even RM700 psf for this land as a it was an expensive undertaking that only the government (via 1MDB) had the political will to execute.

19. Mahathir also alleges that the land in Penang Island is over-priced at RM135 psf. If today, someone offers to sell you land on Penang Island at only RM135 psf then you would grab it. Even the Penang Chief Minister’s famed 60% under market priced bungalow is priced at RM270 psf.

20. True, the Penang land had problems in resolving squatters – exactly like the TRX land initially. But the value of what 1MDB can do is to resolve these problems and enhance the value of the Penang land – just like what 1MDB did with TRX.

21. Mahathir is also lying to say that development in TRX is slow. All you need to do is to go look at the site today and you will see a 106 floors building that is already 70% complete and will be higher than Mahathir’s KLCC when it opens next year.

22. On top of that 106 floors signature tower, HSBC has made TRX its regional HQ  along with Prudential. Affin Bank also has a plot there along with Australia’s Lend Lease and Tabung Haji. There is also an upcoming project by one of China’s leading bank to site its regional HQ there.

23. None of those funds that Mahathir alleges has gone missing comes direct from 1MDB but was allegedly diverted from 3rd party entities that dealt with 1MDB. All of these entities are owned or linked to IPIC/Aabar senior officials.

24. This is why in April 2017, 1MDB signed a settlement agreement with IPIC to recover these funds. As a result, 1MDB has been able to monetize its USD2.5 billion fund units which had been accused by Mahathir of being worthless.

25. It is from this monetization of units that 1MDB had been able to use to pay USD620 million to IPIC in Aug 2017 as part of its settlement agreement. The agreement will also resolve the USD3.5 billion bonds that IPIC has guaranteed.

26. With the resolution of its settlement agreement, the ongoing TRX development as well as the final award of the development rights for Bandar Malaysia for approximately RM30b to RM40b, 1MDB can more than afford to pay back the RM27 billion remaining bonds and still generate a big profit.

28. This is unlike the RM32 billion loss in his BNM Forex Scandal that has zero hope to ever recover.

Unlike 1MDB that had built 8 military bases, leaving legacies in TRX and Bandar Malaysia, resolved the long-standing lop-sided IPPs to save us RM200 billion, gave tens of thousands of scholarships and Haj pilgrimage and likely to turn a profit for Malaysia, Mahathir’s RM32 billion BNM scandal benefited exactly ZERO Malaysians.

What Is Mahathir Trying To Hide By Suing Najib, The RCI And The Government?

What Is Mahathir Trying To Hide By Suing Najib, The RCI And The Government?

(Malaysian Digest) – The report by the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the foreign exchange losses suffered by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) back in 1990s by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) when the Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was Prime Minister seem to have ruffled his normally sanguine air.

Political analyst/blogger, Lim Sian See (LSS) said that the RCI unearthing the BNM scandal has clearly rattled him as the former Prime Minister is now filing a summons in court to declare the RCI report as not valid.

“From trying to use the courts to remove certain people in the RCI, suing to stop the RCI from taking place, to giving stupid comparisons to allege BNM “lost” RM160 billion (which is such a stupid allegation that Kit Siang, Tony and Lapiji don’t even dare backup) to suing Najib and suing a royal commission to declare the report null to now trying to blame others including the deputy governor who blew the whistle on the losses and he cover up,” LSS highlighted in a recent Facebook posting.

He added that Mahathir’s desperation when it comes to the case shows that he has something to hide from the people.

“I thought nothing2hide? Now he even wants to sue to hide the RCI report,” LSS said.

In the summons, Mahathir named the RCI panel as the defendant, which includes its chairman Tan Sri Sidek Hassan; High Court judge Datuk Kamaludin Md Said; chief executive officer of Bursa Malaysia Bhd Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan; joint chairman of the Special Task Force to Facilitate Business Tan Sri Saw Choo Boon; and Malaysian Institute of Accountants member K. Pushpanathan.

Also named were the secretary of the Commission of Inquiry, who is also the Director of the Strategic Investment Division of the Finance Ministry, Datuk Dr Yusof Ismail, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, cabinet minister and the Malaysian Government.

However according to blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK), Mahathir should be directing his wrath at DAP veteran statesman Lim Kit Siang instead of the commission because Kit Siang was instrumental in stirring up the whole BNM scandal.

It Was Kit Siang And Not Najib Who Exposed Mahathir’s Wrongdoings

During Mahathir’s 22 years of leadership as Prime Minister, the Opposition had highlighted various scandals such as Perwaja Steel, the Maminco-Makuwasa scandal, Bumiputra Malaysia Finance (BMF), MAS, independent power provider (IPP) contracts, and many others, said RPK in his recent posting on malaysia-today.net.

The allegation that Mahathir was involved in the BNM forex scandal was originally brought up by DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang.

“It was Kit Siang who for more than 20 years has been pushing for the RCI on the Bank Negara forex scandal and now he got his wish,” he said.

He said that Najib is only fulfilling Kit Siang’s wish, who had demanded repeatedly for Mahathir to be investigated.

“But now Mahathir is complaining about the RCI and is whacking Najib. But it was Kit Siang and not Najib that has been demanding the RCI for the last 20 years. So why whack Najib instead of Kit Siang?” RPK asked.

Clare Brown’s Unhealthy Obsession With PAS

Clare Brown’s Unhealthy Obsession With PAS

Clare has lost focus and is off-tangent. She is panicking and is going all over the place. The MACC has told her and Ambiga Sreenevasan that, first of all, there is no evidence Najib gave PAS RM90 million and, secondly, there is no record showing RM90 million leaving 1MDB’s account. And this is why Clare is panicking.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

In Sarawak Report’s latest piece, Clare Rewcastle Brown said, “It Is PAS Who Now Have To Prove Their Finances, Like All Political Parties Must….

That is indeed a most interesting statement that has come out of Clare’s mouth thus far. But why only PAS and not the other two dozen or so political parties in Malaysia? Do the UK and US political parties also ‘prove their finances’?

Clare is what the Chinese would say tok-kok. If Clare wants to set new standards for political transparency, and only for Malaysia but not for the UK and US, then make this rule applicable to all political parties and not just to PAS. Why this ‘fatal attraction’ to PAS?

Clare alleges that in mid-2016 former prime minister Najib Tun Razak donated to or ‘bribed’ PAS and a number of its party leaders a total of RM90 million. But that is not the real issue or the crime here. The ‘crime’ is that the RM90 million was supposed to have come from 1MDB. That is what makes it a crime. The donation itself is not a crime.

Clare should first reveal how much Dr Mahathir paid her before she demands the same from PAS

I mean Robert Kuok, Ananda Krishnan, Francis Yeoh, Vincent Tan and dozens of other tycoons also donate money to parties on both sides of the political divide. In fact, Husam Musa, when he was still in PAS, received millions from gambling companies and casinos. Nothing wrong with that.

The thing that makes it ‘toxic’ is the RM90 million allegedly came from 1MDB. If not then no issue with Najib or anyone for that matter donating RM90 million to PAS…if that really did happen, that is.

As for the reason anyone donates to PAS (like I do) does not matter. It could be for perjuangan Islam. It could be so that you can have friends in the government in the event PAS happens to win the election. It could be you just like that bonnie lass in the tudung whose brother is contesting and you want to ‘win her heart’, never mind whether the brother wins the election or not.

The important thing is, the money that I donated to PAS was not stolen from the bank. The fact I donated to PAS and the reason why I donated does not matter one bit. Asal jangan duit curi.

Clare tried to save her neck by blaming Ambiga for the false information

So now the MACC needs to focus on, first, whether in 2016 Najib donated RM90 million to PAS, second, who received the money, and, third, was the RM90 million stolen from 1MDB.

Clare is trying to confuse the issue by publishing bank documents dated 2018 that allegedly was part of the RM90 million. Hello, sista, what has 2018 bank documents got to do with a 2016 donation? The timeline does not fit lah! Furthermore, does the person who committed the crime of giving you internal banking documents want to reveal himself or herself? If not, how would we know whether, yet again, you fabricated those documents like last time?

Then Clare is posting photographs of cars and motorcycles from pre-2016. If these PAS leaders allegedly received the money in mid-2016 and they bought cars and motorcycles in 2013, 2014 or 2015, how can that money have come from the RM90 million, or from 1MDB?

This is Clare’s ‘proof’ that Najib gave PAS RM90 million

Clare ni dah mengarut. Her timeline is all out. The money was supposed to have been paid in 2016. The documents are dated 2018. And the PAS leaders bought cars and bikes long before 2016. Cerita apa ni?

The issue here is 1MDB. Focus on that. Did the RM90 million come from 1MDB? Publish those documents. Don’t go and publish other documents not related to the RM90 million or photographs of cars and motorcycles. You need to prove that the RM90 million you allege PAS received or the purchase of the cars and motorcycles came from 1MDB.

Clare is actually very scared and frustrated. She knows she made a mistake and it is now coming back to haunt her. So, she is trying to claim the moral high ground and act as if she is on the same level as Mother Teresa.

READ MORE HERE: CLARE REWCASTLE BROWN’S FINAL-DEFENCE-AND-COUNTER-CLAIM

Her statement of Defence and Counter-Claim aggravated that mistake. She tried to cover her sorry arse by shifting the blame to Ambiga. And that made things worse. She should have remembered that when you are stuck in a hole stop digging.

She had tried to take this matter into the court of public opinion and now she is being tried in that same court. The days when anything she says people will automatically swallow are gone.  She is now facing a credibility problem and she knows it. She can no longer simply say anything and get away with it. People now want her to prove what she says.

She succeeded with the 1MDB issue because so many others such as AWSJ, etc., joined her in whacking Najib. In this RM90 million issue she is all on her own. That means all those others who jumped onto the 1MDB bandwagon in the past do not buy this RM90 million story. And that is what concerns her. She is a lone voice with no longer any chorus to back her up.

This RM90 million issue is going to sink her and Ambiga and she knows it. And, in her desperation, this is causing her to make so many mistakes. Money paid in 2016 but documents from 2018. Is this her new story?

Najib's Response

Here’s how the value of items seized by PDRM came to RM1 billion

Jae Senn

1. The stash included RM114 million to RM116 million in campaign funds, possibly for UMNO “carpet bombing”. No official paper trail, so we don’t know the details yet.

2. There was also the cash and valuables seized from Najib’s daughter and husband’s condo. Najib’s son-in-law, Daniyar Nazarbayev, is the nephew of Kazakhstan’s president, Nursultan Nazarbayev. He’s from a wealthy ruling class and wedding gifts from his mother, gifts that included gold and jewelry.

Their wedding was attended by VVIPs from both Malaysia and abroad, with many of these guests parting with expensive gifts that probably ran into the millions. These gifts, coupled with their personal belongings and cash, were seized in the police raids.

3. The condos of Tan Sri Desmond Lim Siew Choon and his wife, Datin Cindy Lim, were also raided by the authorities. Some may refer to the duo as Najib’s friends, while others may prefer to call them his cronies. Pictures from the raid clearly showed many boxes labeled “Datin Cindy” being wheeled out of the Pavilion condo

The said boxes contained nothing but luxury handbags. Tan Sri Desmond Lim is one of the wealthiest individuals in Malaysia, with a net worth of over RM2.4 billion. He has a 35.5% stake in Malton, a 37.2% stake in Pavilion REIT, and a 17.5% stake in WCT (which he spent over RM600 million to acquire in late-2016).

4. The valuables seized included high-quality counterfeits which were also valued at the price of genuine products for the time being. The jewellery and gold seized were valued at RM440 million, though through some fancy math and ‘logic’, that value miraculously ballooned to RM880 million. It was argued that with all the “workmanship” involved, the current market value would be 50-100% higher.

5. Now, we have to remember that all three condos raided in Pavilion did not belong to Najib. The said units were merely “connected” to him and were owned and occupied by other high net-worth individuals. But what about the items seized at Najib’s private residences and Sri Perdana?

6. Well, nothing was found at Sri Perdana, as expected. A few boxes of personal items were seized from his private residence (the value of the items have not been disclosed), and an old safe that took 2 days to open only had some old currency notes (maybe he’s into numismatics) and his wedding certificate.

7. Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak has said that he will stay and fight his case in court to clear his name. By the rule of law, everyone is entitled to the benefit of being innocent until proven guilty, without being lynched in the court of public opinion through trials by media.

However, this is Tun M we’re talking about, a man who’s most adept at demonizing his opponents by repeated trials-by-media (e.g. Anwar = sodomite & masturbator; Pak Lah = sleeps on the job; etc.).

The perception has already been created that the luxury condos at the Pavilion belong to Najib, all the luxury items seized belong to Rosmah Mansor, and that Najib had used RM1 billion of taxpayers money to amass all this cash and valuables.

Welcome to Malaysia Baru!
