Clare Brown’s Possible Money-Laundering Legal Problem

Clare Brown’s Possible Money-Laundering Legal Problem

Clare’s claim that the RM1.4 million is out-of-court settlement costs was to get Bank Negara’s approval to take the money out of the country. If not, she would face problems. This was also to make it easier for the money to enter the UK. If not, they would investigate her for money-laundering.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

As Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said, arresting and charging Najib Tun Razak is easy, proving he committed a crime is another thing altogether. Najib’s trial may take years, like in Anwar Ibrahim’s case, and in the end the court may find him not guilty.

The problem is, Najib need not prove anything. All he needs to do is raise doubts. The prosecution needs to prove Najib’s guilt beyond any shadow of doubt. And if there is even 10% doubt, then the benefit of the doubt needs to be given to the accused. That is how it goes.

Clare said Ambiga told her about the RM90 million cheque

Clare Rewcastle Brown said Ambiga Sreenevasan told her Najib gave PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang and a number of other PAS leaders RM90 million. The money, it seems, came from 1MDB while the purpose of the ‘bribe’ is to get PAS to abandon Pakatan Rakyat.

That was what Clare said Ambiga told her.

In law, that is called hearsay. You are relating what someone is alleged to have told you and hearsay is not evidence and is not admissible in court. The ‘maker’, in this case Ambiga, will need to go to court to testify that she did, in fact, tell Clare this. Ambiga will then need to prove she is telling the truth and she must have evidence to support this ‘truth’.

Ambiga will probably tell the court that this was what Husam Musa told her and that Husam had, in fact, seen the RM90 million cheque made out in the name of ‘Abdul Hadi Awang’ with Najib’s signature on the cheque.

Husam said he personally saw the RM90 million cheque

Husam will then be subpoenaed to testify in court where he will have to tell the court he personally saw the RM90 million cheque and the time, date and place this event occurred. He will tell the court the figure was RM90 million and the cheque was a 1MDB cheque and Najib’s signature, which he recognised, was on the cheque.

The bank officer or bank manager of the bank concerned will then have to go to court to confirm that cheque number so-and-so dated so-and-so signed by so-and-so for an amount of RM90 million was made out to ‘Abdul Hadi Awang’ and the cheque was banked into account number so-and-so at bank so-and-so on date so-and-so and was cleared.

(Phew…I think I will be a lawyer when I grow up.)

Tommy Thomas can now order Hadi’s arrest

So, all the government (or Tommy Thomas) needs to now do is order the arrest of Hadi and charge him in court under the Anti-Money Laundering Act or AMLA. Then the prosecutor can summon Clare, Ambiga, Husam, the bank officer/manager, etc., to testify in court. The cancelled cheque can also be tendered as evidence showing RM90 million, Najib’s signature, the bank/account it was banked into, etc.

Then Hadi can be sent to jail together with all those others who had a share of this RM90 million.

It is actually very easy. And with all these witnesses and hard evidence, there is no way Hadi can escape and the trial should be over very fast.

But then why do they not do this? Why keep talking about the RM90 million cheque without taking it beyond just talking since this allegation is based on witnesses and hard evidence?

Americk said the RM1.4 million is an out-of-court settlement but cannot prove it

There is another case looming over the horizon, also involving money-laundering. And this case involves the UK as well.

Clare alleges that the KTMB Chairman, Rameli Musa, paid her RM1.4 million. She further alleges that Rameli paid her the RM1.4 million on behalf of PAS and that it was for the out-of-court settlement in the case between her and Hadi.

Lawyer Americk Sidhu said the same thing and said the cheque was from a third party and that the third party signed the cheque in front of him and that it was for the out-of-court settlement.

In his press conference yesterday, Hadi said someone who was representing Clare had approached him before GE14 in 2017 to negotiate an out-of-court settlement and he had refused.

Hadi said Clare’s agent approached him in 2017 to settle their case out of court but Hadi declined

So, it was clear that this out-of-court settlement had been proposed back in 2017, not recently in 2019, and that Clare or her agents had made the first move. So why would Hadi pay Clare RM1.4 million when she, and not he, wanted to settle the case out of court? Furthermore, the out-of-court settlement agreement clearly states there is going to be no costs involved on both sides.

The fact that Rameli paid Clare RM1.4 million is indisputable. Even the lawyer confirms this. The purpose Rameli paid Clare RM1.4 million and on whose instructions, however, is not clear.

Clare’s claim that the RM1.4 million is out-of-court settlement costs was to get Bank Negara’s approval to take the money out of the country. If not, she would face problems. This was also to make it easier for the money to enter the UK. If not, they would investigate her for money-laundering.

What did Rameli tell the MACC as to why he paid Clare RM1.4 million and on whose instructions?

My guess would be the out-of-court settlement claim was to avoid money-laundering charges. And Americk played along with this to help strengthen the out-of-court settlement story. Hadi, however, denies he paid Clare any out-of-court settlement costs.

The last piece in the puzzle would be to hear what Rameli told the MACC. Did Rameli tell the MACC the name of the person who asked him to pay Clare the RM1.4 million? Rameli is close to Mahathir, Tun Daim Zainuddin, Anwar Ibrahim, and Hadi (plus hundreds of other people, of course). Who, (Mahathir, Daim, Anwar or Hadi) asked him to pay Clare RM1.4 million and for what purpose? Hadi already said it was not him. So that leaves Mahathir, Daim and Anwar.

I bet you were hoping I would tell you who of the three asked Rameli to pay Clare RM1.4 million and for what reason. That story will be later lah! Cannot lah cerita semua in one article. Come back later and you might be able to find out the answer to that question.

How Mahathir will use Rameli to ‘kill’ Anwar and secure two thirds in Parliament

How Mahathir will use Rameli to ‘kill’ Anwar and secure two thirds in Parliament

“When Rameli began associating with Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak’s team and assisted several of the former premier’s people during election campaigns, Mahathir wasn’t pleased. It is for this reason, that following Barisan Nasional’s defeat during the 14thgeneral election (GE14), Mahathir got Daim to lure Rameli back to his fold with promises that the renegotiations of the various rail projects he put on hold would see active participation by Ingress at some level”

Raggie Jessy Rithaudeen

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has gotten the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) involved in a discovery exercise into claims that Dato’ Dr Rameli Musa was party to a money-laundering scheme. On Tuesday, the 4thof March 2019, I told PDRM that the RM1.4 million the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) chairman paid Americk Singh Sidhu via a Client’s account ended with Clare Rewcastle Brown by means of conspiracy. The conspiracy involved the laundering of the said fund by Americk, who, together with Rameli, Bank Negara Malaysia and Maybank Jalan Tun Razak, cheated the United Kingdom (UK) central bank by providing it false information.

Let’s take things from the top.

Rameli Musa was a onetime Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim crony who assisted the PKR chief back when the latter was sacked from government. In 1998, at the height of reformasi, Rameli was instrumental in helping all those jailed by Tun (then Dato’ Seri) Mahathir Mohamad by providing them with money and legal representation. Anwar’s wife, Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, took a liking for Rameli and depended a lot on him to keep reformasi going. When the movement took over Ikatan Masyarakat Islam Malaysia (IKATAN) and renamed it Parti Keadilan Nasional (PKN), it had the names of Rameli and his business associates written all over it.

Rameli’s money was everywhere. By then, he had begun warming up to Tun (then Dato’ Seri) Daim Zainuddin who wanted to trigger animosity between him and Wan Azizah. Daim knew that Rameli was the sort of guy who didn’t put his eggs in one basket and was a wiling party to any beneficial association. In 1991, when Rameli co-founded Ingress Engineering Sdn Bhd with a BNW concessionaire, he was already closely associated with the late Dato’ Dr Mohamad Jaffar Mohamad Ali, brother of Tun Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, Mahathir’s wife. Jaffar was then the Chairman of TD Cars (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and helped Rameli secure many deals with Cycle & Carriage (CC) and Proton.

So you see, Rameli had his tentacles lodged in both Anwar’s and Mahathir’s camps even before reformasi. The company that owns Ingress, Ramdawi Sdn Bhd, was an Anwar proxy which he co-founded with Dato’ Abdul Wahab Ismail, Ingress’ group advisor. Through Jaffar, Rameli secured a couple of supply deals with Proton and was said to have been involved with the supply of knowhow to TD Cars. Following a series of corporate restructuring and privatisation deals, he assumed the roles of Executive Vice Chairman and Non-Executive Director at Ingress Corporation Berhad, a company he held substantial stakes in. Things went downhill from there between him and Wan Azizah.

At first, he made nothing of it and continued his associations with PKR leaders. Because his business ventures had started on a footing that made no distinction between Mahathir and Anwar, he figured that the Malaysian political landscape was such, that everyone who dealt with him made no bones about who he associated with as long as money kept coming. To PKR, he was the guy who bankrolled election campaigns for Anwar’s men and assisted some of Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali’s men. To Mahathir, he was the guy who dealt with Jaffar and helped supply Proton cost effective parts. Then, on the 14thof September 2001, Jaffar departed the earthly plane and left Rameli with billions in automotive supply deals.

By then, Mahathir, who had mooted and approved several railway electrification and double-tracking projects, had gotten Daim to enter backdoor deals with Bealfour Beatty Rail Sdn Bhd (BBR), a rail electrification systems expert Rameli had stakes in. Daim promised Rameli several signalling and communication systems contracts worth billions for various stages of the double-tracking project. Wan Azizah wasn’t particularly fond of the arrangement and began seeking alternate sources of funding for PKR. In her mind, Rameli’s associations with Daim meant Mahathir would know which PKR leader spent how much, when and where. And that’s true – Mahathir did know which PKR leader spent how much, when and where.

As a matter of fact, he knew of Rameli’s more than close dealings with certain insiders in Maybank and how the main shareholder of Ingress was Maybank Nominees. That is to say, Mahathir knew that Rameli had pledged Ingress’ shares to Maybank and that the bank had significant say in how the company was run. He knew how Rameli obtained borrowings worth RM110 million from Maybank Investment Bank Berhad for the privatisation of Ingress at RM1.85 a piece. Rameli was comfortable leaving paper trails all over his backyard as he believed that the guys at Maybank would cover him. But Mahathir had his own people in Bank Negara who exercised some form of control over Maybank and fed him with quite a lot of details relating to Rameli.

It is that control that ultimately led to the sabotage of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) by the Maybank Kim Eng Group (MKEG). Not many are aware, that in August 2014, Dato’ Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus, current governor and then deputy governor of Bank Negara, got her subordinate to instruct two officials from Maybank to sabotage 1MDB’s Initial Public Offering (IPO). It is this directive that resulted in the jamming of 1MDB’s loans by the regional head of debt capital markets at MKEG, Michael Oh-Lau Chong Jin, and the CEO of MKEG, John Chong. So you see, just as much as Mahathir exercised some form of control over Maybank’s dealings with 1MDB, he had control over the bank’s dealings with Rameli, knew who the billionaire dealt with in PKR and UMNO and how much money people like Tian Chua and Nurul Izzah Anwar spent for GE14.

Now, don’t get me wrong.

Initially, it didn’t bother Mahathir much that Rameli was helping PKR leaders as Tun (then Dato’ Seri) Abdullah Badawi wasn’t proving to be a worthy successor. To Mahathir, the emergence of PKR as a force for UMNO to reckon with was most opportune as the mission was then to weaken Abdullah’s stronghold in Penang and Barisan Nasional’s majority at federal. But when Rameli began associating with Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak’s team during the later years and assisted several of the former premier’s people during election campaigns, Mahathir wasn’t at all pleased. It is for this reason, that following Barisan Nasional’s defeat during the 14thgeneral election (GE14), he got Daim to lure Rameli back to his fold with promises that the renegotiations of the various rail projects he put on hold would see active participation by Ingress at some level.

That’s not all.

Mahathir also needed Rameli on his side to prevent the latter from rekindling his long-lost friendship with Anwar. And if you know Mahathir the way I do, you will know that he always gets you to do his dirty work in order that your dirty file will always be with him. Late in January 2019, he got Rameli to channel RM1.4 million to Americk (via a client’s account

which Clare later told Maybank Jalan Tun Razak was for her. The fact that the transaction was approved by Bank Negara means Rameli and Americk had indicated to the central bank what the money was for. But the fact that Clare stated in her letter to Maybank that the money was from PAS president Dato’ Seri Haji Abdul Hadi Awang indicates that Rameli and Americk lied to Bank Negara regarding the source of the fund.

Not only was Hadi never party to the transaction, the out of court settlement he entered with Clare in London involved no costs, a fact easily made manifest when one refers to the official settlement agreement filed at the High Court of Justice in London. Unless Clare can produce legitimate documents proving that a separate agreement existed between her and Hadi, we can safely conclude that the RM1.4 million she insists she received was funnelled into her account by means of conspiracy. Put two and two together, and you will see how the conspiracy involved Americk, Ramli, Bank Negara and Maybank Jalan Tun Razak. Basiclly, Rameli was complicit with the parties aforementioned to launder the fund by misleading the UK central bank.

That, in essence, is why PDRM wants the MACC involved. On Tuesday, when questioned by the an Investigating Officer in Subang Jaya, I was told that the case would be transferred to the MACC, which was rather ironical, given that the police had yet to even open an investigation paper, let alone file my report under the appropriate section. The fact that the MACC burnt rubber getting Rameli into its interrogation room reeks of interference from the top. When Rameli told us that he ‘handed’ over his chequebook to the MACC, he impressed upon us that he was more than willing to cooperate with authorities. But he lied. Truth is, the very man who is trying to keep him away from Anwar, Mahathir, now wants to use my police report to dig everything there is to dig about him.

Yes, Mahthir wants to know the name of each and every Member of Parliament (MP) who received monetary assistance from Rameli. While everyone knows that the spending cap for a candidate vying for a parliamentary seat is RM200,000, not everyone knows, that spending that little may not even get you three days into your campaign. The MACC knows this and so does Mahathir. By confiscating Rameli’s chequebook and using Nor Shamsiah’s influence in Maybank, the Prime Minister wants the black and white on funds MPs aligned with Najib and Anwar spent to run GE14 campaigns. He is planning to use evidence of overspending – which, in Malaysian election laws, constitutes a violation – to blackmail the MPs before entering into deals with them to ensure that Anwar’s vote of no-confidence, if any, will fall flat on its face.

But there is something Mahathir overlooked…

Wikileaks, DC Leaks, Malaysia BERSIH, Maria Chin, SOSMA and the Ukraine Experience

This is a long blog post but a deadly serious subject like this certainly requires it.

In the middle of this year, exposes and leaks by both WikiLeaks and DC Leaks have shocked the US presidential elections. This got Hilary Clinton into a lot of trouble with the FBI. Many of these leaks also concerned George Soros' Opens Society Foundation /

2,576 files predominately related to George Soros' Open Society Foundation. The leak included the Foundation's internal work plans, strategies, priorities and other worldwide activities by Soros.

There are many references to Malaysia and a mysterious "Malaysia Program" are in these documents.

This particular document caught my eye as this review of George Soros activities towards "free and fair" elections in Malaysia alleges funding, training and assistance by George Soros to BERSIH, Merdeka Center, the BAR council and MalaysiaKini - all of whom have since publicly confirmed their links with OSF.

The document also says George Soros has a personal interest in Malaysia while it suggest that they want opposition to win but do no want to be too blatant to show that.

It says that the OSF started working on the General Elections in 2010 in anticipation that the elections would be announced in 2011, two years after Prime Minister Najib replaced Ahmad Badawi.

Not only did OSF themselves say they have funded BERSIH activities since 2010 but they said "While the majority of support was through grant making, the Malaysia Program took on more than the traditional grantmaker’s role, and actually became the driver of the work."

Yes, Soros' foundation is the DRIVER of the "free and fair elections" movement.

Consistent with the expose of George Soros actively lobbying the USA politicians to remove Najib, it seems that these people have been working on trying to "change" Malaysia for quite some time with a deliberate plan and funding.

In their own review document, OSF themselves admitted that OSF’s support for the grantees was INSTRUMENTAL for the galvanizing of public participation and supporting civil society efforts and that OSF support was particularly impactful for youth participation with hundreds of thousands of youth mobilized.

So, OSF themselves confirmed what we had all long-suspected - That George Soros is behind BERSIH rallies.

George Soros is known to be involved in pretty much any revolution or coup around the world as well as heavily influencing politics. But these leaks provide direct evidence and show how deep and serious his involvement is.

How do we know this? Well, OSF themselves admitted this themselves in this leaked document.

Yesterday, DAP's Tony Pua said he was aware of what funds BERSIH took (from the NDI and Soros' OSF) but said there was nothing wrong with receiving foreign funding

So, I went back to look at the exposed internal Soros OSF documents exposed by DC Leaks and WikiLeaks.

I found many interesting revelations in these documents. Among these are:

1) OSF had admitted to be involved in many of the "coloured revolutions" around the world which OSF themselves admitted had turned violent and resulted in many deaths - including the most recent one just 2 years ago in 2014 in Ukraine.

2) In an internal memo written by the three advisors of OSF - Morton Halperin, Jerry Fowler, Jonas Rolett, OSF says that free and fair elections alone are not sufficient for a "real democracy".

3) OSF documents recommend more extensive use of media public relations (which means propaganda), lobbying western govts to apply pressure to the target country and other measures.

A separate Wikileaks expose also detailed how Soros had actively lobbied the USA Government to end support to Najib. In March 2016, Soros had met and pressured the highest powers in the USA to end support for Najib Razak as Malaysia PM.

In a March 6 email with the subject "John Pang Memo", Vachon told Podesta: "And I think George will want to talk about this, among other things".

Pang's memo titled "The TPP and Malaysia's Corruption Crisis" urges the Obama administration to disassociate from Najib.

It is thus not a coincident that in just 4 months time in July 2016, that the USA Department of Justice (DOJ) then moved against several people linked to Najib in a civil case with an unprecedented scathing press conference.

The John Pang mentioned in that Wikileaks expose is a Malaysian - in fact, he is the only Malaysian that sits on OSF's 23-persons Global Directors Board together with George Soros and his two sons.

John Pang is also the person who gave false information to local blogger Raja Petra Kamarrudin (RPK) 10 years ago to make that false Statutory Declaration against Najib and Rosmah to link both of them to Mongolian Altantuya's murder.  Later on, RPK realized that he was fooled and given false information by John and had to run away to the United Kingdom. In fact, he wrote about this John Pang link more than 5 years ago  - before the link between John Pang and Soros was revealed a few months ago in the Wikileaks expose.

It was also alleged that the USA Democratic govt bends over for Soros and has to make him happy (Read: Make Soros Happy! ).

Recently, the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban lashed out against the leadership of the Democratic Party, accusing them of being the pawns of a "shadow empire" operated by Hungarian-born billionaire George Soros.

4) The OSF documents also admits that Malaysia is a key target of OSF and acts as a "framework state" for OSF. They is say that Soros' has a personal interest in Malaysia.

5) OSF is the driver of the Malaysia Program and has gone beyond funding and has initiated and intensified other measures such as use of international media, lobbying of US govt and an international Public Relations firm. OSF claims to be instrumental in "bringing hundreds of thousands of Malaysians out to rally"

Western PR and media companies working with local portals and politicians are very good at helping formulate propaganda.

An example was during GE13 in 2013 when many Malaysians were absolutely convinced of 40,000 Bangladeshis voting and Blackouts.

This was later proven to be untrue by BERSIH and DAP themselves months later after the Blackout505 rallies fizzled out, who published a report that there is no such thing happening and there is no proof.

Despite this, many Malaysians still believe this propaganda but cannot answer why the opposition did not manage to capture a single phantom Bangladeshi voters out of 40,000 nor can they answer when pressed to say where an actual blackout location was.

6) OSF documents also show that they admit funding and controlling the International Renaissance Front (IRF) based in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, which is acknowledged as the key mover to Ukraine's bloody 2014 revolution.

The 2014 revolution led to hundreds of deaths and missing people in the rallies and led to civil war and breakup of Ukraine - which has killed another 8,000 people and still continuing. This Ukraine was also led to the shooting down of our MH17.

In that same document, it stated that in Malaysia, the Chair of the OSF advisory committee is the founder of MalaysiaKini (which OSF indirectly owns and control 29% shares).

The project name for Ukraine is called "The New Ukraine" whereas the project name for Malaysia is the "Malaysia Program".

The 2014 Ukraine example of what Soros did is an eye-opener as it is so recent. I will share more on this later.

When "real democracy" came to Ukranie. Collapse of the Economy.

Just like Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Syria and the rest which experienced revolution (and suffered hundreds of  thousands of deaths and collapse of their country) with the help of Soros and the USA and given the present of real democracy, Ukraine also received the same.

The 2014 revolution with street rallies resulting in fights with govt forces and those opposed to the rallies (like the red shirts) led to and estimated 760 dead & missing.

Casualty figures for 2014 Ukraine rallies and revolution.(One thing that PDRM did well in the last BERSIH5/Red Shirt rallies was to pre-emptively arrest all the leaders and made great efforts to segregate both rival parties to avoid the spark of conflict flaring up - which was what happened in Ukraine where rival groups and police fought)

This was followed by the break-up of Ukraine with the secession of Crimera and a civil war that is still on-going. So far, over 8,000 people have been killed. Our Malaysian Airlines MH17 plane being shot-down over Ukraine was a result of this fighting.

Casualty figures to date for Ukraine 2014 civil war

Because of this present of "real democracy", the Ukraine economy also collapses.

Ukraine inflation rate spikes up to 65% post 2014

Ukraine's economy has been battered and is worth less than half before the 2014 revolution - and less than what it was more than 10 years ago.
GDP growth turned negative with up to a 15% contraction.

Ukraine's currency is now worth less than 25% of what it was before 2014 "Real Democracy"

Inflation goes up to 65%, their currency is worth less than a quarter of what it was worth, the economy has dropped more than half in size and is actually smaller than it was ten years ago - undoing a decade of economic growth.

Certainly with this collapse due to the present of "real democracy", Ukraine will need saving. But who will save them?

The "Savior of Ukraine" and rebuilding their economy

Soros helps cause the collapse of Ukraine, Soros helps "rescue" Ukraine.

Soros says he is investing USD1 billion in Ukraine.

Soros also establishes a Ukraine Redevelopment Fund under Soros Fund Management.

About Ukrainian Redevelopment Fund, LP
Ukrainian Redevelopment Fund, LP (URF) is a private investment vehicle that focuses on special situations and private equity investments in Ukraine and companies with significant operations in Ukraine. URF endeavors to make targeted investments that have the potential to promote economic and social development in Ukraine. The principal investment adviser to URF is Soros Fund Management LLC, a private investment advisor to a number of private investment funds that are managed exclusively for Soros family clients.

Soros is also invited by the the new post-revolution Ukraine Head of the Presidential Administration, Boris Lozhkin to be part of the govt's Investment Council of Ukraine.

The Person whom Soros help put in power is also the person who now invites him to sit on the board of the powerful Govt Investment Council to determine investment priorities and development policies
It is tempting to see all of Soros’ actions through the lens of investing. Buying Ukrainian IT, agriculture and energy assets at dirt cheap prices in heavily devalued currency will pay off if the country emerges from this conflict and joins the EU, something the current Prime Minister of Ukraine clearly wants.

What a great business model. Invest tens or hundreds of millions in money and technical assistance to cause regime change, make back tens of billions in profits from the collapsed aftermath. And this just happened in the year 2014.

At the same time,  US politicians also don't miss out.

Robert Hunter Biden (born February 4, 1970) is the second son of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden with hardly any business experience who was sacked from the US Navy for cocaine abuse in Feb 2014 is appointed two months later in April 2014 to the board of director of Burisma Holdings, the largest non-governmental gas producer in Ukraine,

Some accuse the United States of maneuvering the Ukraine situation so that Western oil companies have unfettered access to shale gas (from "fracking") and to drill all across the Ukraine.

THE NDI, NED and CIA connection

After World War II, faced with threats to the USA allies and without any mechanism to channel political assistance, U.S. policy makers resorted to covert means, secretly sending advisers, equipment, and funds to support newspapers and parties under siege in Europe.

When it was revealed in the late 1960’s that some American Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs) were receiving covert funding from the CIA to wage the battle of ideas at international forums, the Johnson Administration concluded that such funding should cease, recommending establishment of “a public-private mechanism” to fund overseas activities openly.

On Capitol Hill, Congressman Dante Fascell (D, FL) introduced a bill in April, 1967 to create an Institute of International Affairs, an initiative that would authorize overt funding for programs to promote "democratic values" - thus The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) was founded.

That is why the NED is known as the overt (or open) arm of the CIA.

The NED is structured to act as a grant-making foundation, distributing funds to private non-governmental organizations for the purpose of promoting democracy abroad.

The Endowment serves as the umbrella organization in which half of NED's funding is allocated annually to four main U.S. organizations: the American Center for International Labor Solidarity (ACILS), the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), and the International Republican Institute (IRI).

Both Ambiga and Maria Chin had admitted that other than receiving funds from George Soros' OSI, BERSIH had also received funding from the NDI.

In an interview in Aug 2011, Ambiga told the 29% Soros-owned MalaysiaKini this:

"Mengenai dakwaan dana asing, Ambiga berkata kedua-dua organisasi asing itu - National Democratic Institute (NDI) dan Open Society Institute (OSI) - memberikan bantuan kewangan kepada BERSIH 2.0 tetapi khusus untuk projek masa depan yang berkaitan dengan persempadanan semula dan bukannya untuk perhimpunan tersebut."

Maria Chin has also admitted the same line several times.

Since NDI is wholly funded by the NED, receiving funds from the NDI is the same as receiving funds directly from the NED, the overt arm of the CIA.

This is also why NED, NDI and George Soros are also banned in Russia.

This also conclusively proves that BERSIH has links with the CIA, as claimed by Annuar Musa.

In the meantime, I urge our local authorities to study the documents in the DC Leaks and Wikileaks carefully.

Or perhaps they already did, which is why they put Maria Chin under SOSMA.

Maria Chin's SOSMA detention

The police had said that her SOSMA detention is not about her organizing the BERSIH rally. This is why all the other detainees on both yellow and red sides were released except her.

The Inspector-General of Police confirms that her SOSMA detention was due to documents found during the police raid on BERSIH offices the day before the rally. They were deemed a security threat. And no, SOSMA is not for terrorists only but whatever threats - internal or external - that can harm the country on a large-scale.

The Police and the AG are not stupid and understand the huge perception impact of putting a middle-age bespectacled widow mother under detention if they had no real reason or cause for it - so the evidence and basis must be there.

On a side-note, Maria Chin's late husband Yunus Lebai Ali was a PLO commando.

In Beirut. Yunus received six months training and later he was selected to a PLO Commando Unit. The unit was an elite force specialized in fighting against the Zionists and the fascist Phalangist terrorists. A couple of years later, Yunus became one of Yasser Arafat’s bodyguards. Then in the early 1980’s, because of the civil war in Lebanon, he fled to the United Kingdom.

Later on, Mahathir had also arrested Yunus Ali in Ops Lalang in 1987 under ISA.

(and now it is strange that Mahathir came out to protest and sit by the roadside to accuse Najib, who is not the Home Minister, as zalim since the police had detained Maria for 28 days under SOSMA but Mahathir himself, who was the Home Minister then, had put her husband in jail for 1 year).

After Maria Chin's SOSMA detention, Ambiga subsequently revealed that it was Maria Chin and her husband Yunus Ali, who passed away in 2010, who are the ones who founded BERSIH and the real persons behind the yellow movement - something that Ambiga never mentioned before.

And no, contrary to propaganda out there, Maria Chin has not been ill-treated in any way. In fact, she herself has not complained about being arrested nor of being ill-treated by police.

Don't be fooled by false propaganda about her arrest which are designed to get sympathy for her.

CONCLUSION

If you think the above is far-fetched, perhaps the people in Ukraine will tell you differently. In fact, Russia, the world's other nuclear super-power takes Soros and OSF seriously enough that they actually go their prosecutor-general to issue an official statement to ban George Soros, OSF and all organizations that are linked to him.

While the second largest economy in the world, China, takes Soros seriously enough to officially warn Soros against ‘declaring war’ on their currency

For the sake of Malaysia, perhaps we should treat this seriously too? Better safe than really sorry.

But if you're the type who won't believe a super-power nation, the 2nd largest economy country in the world or a blogger like me and believe in Star power, why not hear it from an academy award winner actor and Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight talk about George Soros whom he calls "an evil, evil man".

Ex-M’sia PM Najib Razak defends his railway land deal with S’pore in Facebook post

Ex-M’sia PM Najib Razak defends his railway land deal with S’pore in Facebook post

Najib cited Mothership as reference.

Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has taken to social media to appeal to public opinion among Malaysians and defend his record over the 2010/ 2011 railway land deal that he struck with Singapore.

In case the facts have slipped your memory, here’s what went down.

The problem first began, as it often does, with the British colonial regime:

1918 transfer of land

Way back in 1918, before independent Singapore or Malaysia was a thing, the British colonial government handed over controlof more than 200 hectares of land in Singapore to the Federated Malay States Railway (FMSR).

After World War II, management of the FMSR was transferred to Keretapi Tanah Melayu (Malayan Railways or KTM).

1990 Points of Agreement

Back in 1990, then-PM Lee Kuan Yew signed a deal called the Points of Agreement (POA) together with then-Malaysian Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin on the railway land issue.

This meant that Malaysia was supposed to vacate the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station in exchange for three parcels of land in Tanjong Pagar, Kranji and Woodlands.

Malaysia and Singapore would jointly develop the land and own 60 per cent to 40 per cent respectively.

However, the implementation of the deal did not work out under then-PM Mahathir Mohamad.

2010 talks between Najib and PM Lee

In 2010, then-PM Najib Razak tried to tackle the issue, this time with PM Lee Hsien Loong sitting across the table.

Talks were successful, and Malaysia agreed to have KTM vacate Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, and shift its operations to Woodlands Train Checkpoint.

In return for vacating parcels of land at Tanjong Pagar, Kranji, and Woodlands, and three more parcels of land in Bukit Timah, Singapore would exchange six land parcels in Marina South and Ophir-Rochor.

These land parcels would be developed jointly by Malaysia and Singapore by a joint-venture company M+S Pte Ltd, which was 60 per cent owned by Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional and 40 per cent by Singapore’s Temasek Holdings.

2014 court case

Now, Singapore wanted Malaysia to pay development costs for the parcels of land, due to the change in land value from the approval of high-value development projects.

Malaysia agreed to pay up for Bukit Timah, as it was not covered under the POA.

However, they did not agree to pay charges for Kranji, Tanjong Pagar and Woodlands.

Both sides agreed to submit to the Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Hague.

Singapore sought development charges of S$1.47 billion. In October 2014, a three-man Arbitral Tribunal ruled that Malaysia did not need to pay Singapore anything.

Najib has his say

Mahathir has previously expressed his unhappiness at Najib’s deal with Singapore — and Najib has come under criticism from his political opponents.

But on March 4, Najib hit out at his critics in a lengthy Facebook post.

He makes the following claims:

Mahathir’s government failed to seal the 1990 deal

The original agreement to cease operations at KTM’s Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and return railway land to Singapore was negotiated by Mahathir’s government in 1990, and signed by Daim Zainuddin. After the agreement was signed, Mahathir’s government did not honour the deal, and instead asked for an additional three parcels of land at Bukit Timah.Singapore agreed to this, but Mahathir did not proceed with the deal due to other disputes he had with Singapore at the time.

The land

Under the 1918 Railways Act, which gave KTM the land in the first place, it was held by a 999-year leasehold and could only be used for railway purposes. As the land parcels could not be put to other purposes, they sat idle for 20 years, not earning money for the Malaysian government. In fact, they were loss-makers, as Malaysia had to pay annual land tax to Singapore.

The deal

The land that Najib negotiated in exchange at Marina South and Ophir-Rochor were far more valuable than the parcels elsewhere. The projects at these parcels were successfully completedin early 2018, and are worth billions today. They have been earning money for Malaysia, instead of lying idle like the railway land had been for 20 years from 1990 to 2010.Najib disagreed over paying development charges for some of the land parcels, and agreed to go to court. He was successful and saved S$1.47 billion for Malaysia.

In order to illustrate his point, the former PM shared a link to a Mothership article from 2014, which reported the outcome of the court case.

He concluded by saying that he had done his best to solve this long-running legacy issue while he was PM, but the current Pakatan Harapan (PH) government has “slandered” him and accused him of committing “treason” with his deal.

Discussed this issue before

Najib’s arguments appear very similar to the ones he made in December 2018, talking about the same issue.

It’s possible he repeated them for this post.

But Najib has reason to smile.

His coalition recently won a by-election in Semenyih, Selangor, defeating the PH candidate.

And he is no stranger to using social media to gain support from the public.

S’pore watched $1.47 billion in revenue evaporate before her very eyes

Why losing to Malaysia in the court of arbitration in the rail-land tax case is particularly vexing.

Belmont Lay | November 9, 2014 @ 09:26 am

bukit-timah-railway

While most of you were not paying attention, Singapore watched as S$1.47 billion in revenue evaporated right before her eyes.

Not sure what happened? Check out the section below titled, “S’pore vs M’sia: How we lost”.

To dull this massive blow, Singaporeans were bombarded with continuous positive news coverage in The Straits Times and Today for three days from from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3, 2014, trying to soothe frayed nerves.

Here is a sample of the positive quotes from Singapore’s quarters even though we lost:

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Oct. 31:

“It allows us to put this matter behind us. I am happy that Singapore and Malaysia have been able to resolve this dispute in this impartial and amicable way.”

“The full and successful implementation of the Points of Agreement (POA) in 2011 has paved the way for joint development projects and closer collaboration between Singapore and Malaysia. These include links in transport connectivity, and trade and investment. I look forward to making progress on them, and working with PM Najib bilaterally, and in Asean, to benefit both countries.”

——

Former Singapore high commissioner to Malaysia K. Kesavapany told The Straits Times (Nov. 1, 2014):

“At a time when maritime and territorial disputes are on the rise in the region, this is a salutary example of the manner in which such disputes can be resolved.”

——

Professor Robert Beckman, director of the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore, said he was pleased to read PM Lee’s statement (Nov. 1, 2014):

“This shows respect for the rule of law and for independent third-party adjudication and it is a good example for the region as a whole.”

“This is how mature and responsible states handle international dispute settlement. They put their cases before a tribunal, accept the results, and move on.”

——

Alvin Yeo, MP and member of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Defence and Foreign Affairs, felt the outcome was “proof that the consensual approach to resolving differences in views can result in a ‘win-win’ situation.” (Nov. 1, 2014):

“Any loss of revenue from the development charge would be more than made up (for) by not just the higher share of profits accrue to the Singapore side, but from the friendly relationship which is vital for any partnership to succeed.”

——

Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam said (Nov. 3, 2014):

“The process, and the way we did it, is the right way to do these things.”

“We have developments now, joint ventures in Iskandar, and they have (projects) here, all being done together. It encourages people-to-people movement, more commercial activities.”

“The two countries (are) such close neighbours, we have to find sensible ways of moving forward.”

So why should the loss feel so bad for Singapore? Because we picked the shorter end of the stick and then tried to rationalise that it is no big deal.

Here is what Singapore could have bought with S$1.47 billion:

The contract awarded to lay the foundations for Changi Airport’s Terminal 5 is worth $1 billion.

Or we could have built another National Stadium. The Sports Hub in Kallang was built at a cost of S$1.8 billion.

What made it even more vexing for Singapore to lose is that the majority stake of the M+S company is held by Malaysia and they admitted even if they paid the levy, the agreement was “a sweet deal” .

This is mostly because a new company, M+S, that was formed to develop the Marina South and Ophir-Rochor parcels has Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional holding a 60 percent majority stake, while Singapore’s Temasek Holdings holds a minority 40 percent stake.

From ST, Nov. 2, 2014:

The three-member panel disclosed that Singapore had sought a levy of $1.47 billion, in keeping with its practice of imposing such charges when permission is given to develop land that appreciates in value. A 2008 valuation had put the value of these three plots at $2.8 billion altogether.

These plots, and three others in Bukit Timah, were swopped for six new land parcels in downtown Singapore in 2010, which are now being jointly developed by M+S.

But the tribunal also noted that during a hearing in July this year, Malaysian witness Nor Mohamed Yakcop had conceded that even with the charge, the agreement was “a sweet deal” for Malaysia.

“Equally we believe that the deal will have proved advantageous for Singapore even if we conclude that development charge is not payable,” the tribunal said.

The charge is imposed on the enhancement in land value, and Malaysia disagreed with Singapore that it had to be paid on these plots.

And to top it off, Malaysia appeared as gracious winners:

In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman told ST (Nov. 1, 2014): “The understanding between both prime ministers is very good… We believe this is the way forward in dealing with disputes.”

S’pore vs M’sia: How we lost

In 1990: Singapore and Malaysia signed a Points of Agreement (POA). Three parcels of railway land in Tanjong Pagar, Kranji and Woodlands would be vested in a joint venture company and developed as residential and commercial land.

In 2010: The POA was followed by an 20-year impasse, until 2010, when Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Malaysia’s premier Najib Razak agreed on a land swap deal.

Three plots of ex-railway land — Keppel, Kranji and Woodlands — and another three plots in Bukit Timah would be exchanged for four parcels of land in Marina South and two parcels in Ophir-Rochor.

A new company, M+S, was formed to develop the Marina South and Ophir-Rochor parcels. Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional hold a 60 percent stake and Singapore’s Temasek Holdings hold a 40 percent stake.

As the Bukit Timah parcels were not covered by the POA, Malaysia agreed development charges were payable for these plots. However, they disputed the charges for Keppel, Kranji and Woodlands. Both sides agreed to settle the matter through arbitration under the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague.

This charge is a tax paid to Singapore on the enhanced value of the land when planning permission is given.

In 2014: A hearing was held in London from July 15 to 18 this year, where ex-Foreign Minister George Yeo and Malaysian former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nor Mohamed Yakcop testified.

A three-man Arbitral Tribunal delivered its award on Oct. 30, 2014. It said M+S does not have to pay development charges on the three parcels if these had been vested in M+S, and if M+S developed them according to the proposed land uses set out in the POA.

Singapore had sought a levy of S$1.47 billion for the three plots of land.

Now, it is getting none.

Pakatan Harapan Is In Panic Mode

Peakatan Harapan Is In Panic Mode

Okay! PAS is dead. Umno is dead. Therefore, what we have are two dead parties hugging each other and dying in the same grave. So why so much chatter regarding two dead parties wanting to hug each other and die together? Let them die lah. Why you so kaypoh? What you so susah?

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Expect these attacks to continue over the next five weeks right up to the Rantau by-election next month. Pakatan Harapan is in panic mode and they are going to attack PAS and Umno for finally tying the knot after ‘flirting’ for the last three or four years.

So what if Umno and PAS ‘get married’? Gerakan has left Barisan Nasional and MCA and MIC said they are going to do the same. Those in Sabah and Sarawak are already on their own while PPP hidup segan mati tak mahu.

In short, Barisan Nasional is just Umno and there is nothing really left of that so-called coalition of what used to be 14 parties.

DAP also closed down Pakatan Rakyat and formed Pakatan Harapan so that PAS can be kicked out. They even bought over the Team B people in PAS and paid them to form a new Islamic party called Amanah to rival PAS.

So, in essence, Umno is a janda, as is PAS. Nobody wants Umno and PAS any longer. Hence if these two janda decide to get together and set up home what’s the issue? Why are DAP, PKR, MCA, Gerakan, MIC, PPP, Amanah, PPBM, and all those others so worried about what Umno and PAS do?

Just a short while ago they said PAS is no longer relevant and that without the support of the Chinese, Indians, ‘progressive’ Malays (whatever that is supposed to mean), the Christians and non-Muslims from Sabah and Sarawak, etc., PAS is more or less a dead party.

They said the same thing about Umno and Barisan Nasional. MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP, etc., are dead; Sabah and Sarawak are no longer part of Barisan Nasional; Umno is divided into two with the emergence of PPBM; hence Umno is as good as a dead man walking.

Okay! PAS is dead. Umno is dead. Therefore, what we have are two dead parties hugging each other and dying in the same grave. So why so much chatter regarding two dead parties wanting to hug each other and die together? Let them die lah. Why you so kaypoh? What you so susah?
